My Peep Is A Flake...first up

Hey Everyone!
Wow, it's finally time for My Peep Is A Flake!   Yeahhhhhhhh.
Frankie came up with this cool idea and I am co-hosting along with Road Dogs.

So, here's my first Peep Flake post.  Of course, Mom's up first 'cause she's way flakier than Dad.

My Mom's a flake because she has no memory.  That's right, sports fans!  No memory at all.  Never has.  She can't even blame this on getting old...she's never had a memory. What's flakey about that you ask...well, she WAY OVERCOMPENSATES!  She obsessively keeps notes...everywhere...
all the time!  BOL

This is the drawer under Mr Dell.  Note there are 2 paperpads and 1 calendar.

This is the phone shelf above the car keys.  Check out the notepad.  This is no more than 3 feet away from Mr Dell's drawer.

This is the drawer in Mom's endtable.   Check out the overabundance of notepads.
She has millions of them.  They are a favorite gift for her because everyone knows she needs them.
She also obsessively picks them up everywhere she goes.   (Klepto?)

Now, this is the back of Mom's beloved car.  Note the Road Dogs bumperstickers!
Boy, I think Mom's beloved Ru needs a bath...really badly!  BWAR HAR HAR.
The reason I'm showing the Ru is because:

Yup, you guessed it!  Look above the visor.  Check out the notepad and pen.  She knows full well that if she has an important thought (ahem) going down the road, she'll never remember it when she gets home!   BOL

On the odd (fat) chance that she doesn't have a notepad nearby (ahem again), she'll write on her hand.

So there you go.  Talk about going OVERBOARD!  There is major compensation happening here.
She always says..."If you tell me something and you don't see me write it down...better tell me again!"
BTW:  You probably can't tell, but in the pix of the notepad on the phone shelf, the page is torn in half.  Now, here's more Flake Proof...Mom's obsessive in her note taking, but she's also a true Tree Hugger.  So if she makes a small note, she does it at the bottom of the sheet, then tears it off and uses the top half next time.  WEIRD WEIRD WEIRD!   She's got a gazillion of these, yet insists on using half-torn-off sheets all the time.  Oh, boy.
BWAR HAR HAR.   Tune in next Peep Flake post for the dirt on Dad!

Remember:  To pawticipate, simply create your own My Peep Is A Flake post, then comment on my blog, Frankie's blog, Road Dogs' blog and the Blogville Community Calendar.  Why all three?  So that there is no chance we miss your post and your name.  If you don't comment on all four blogs, your name will not be in the big drawing.  We have three pawesome pressies to give away.  Deadline is 1-7-12 at midnight ET and the winners will be announced on 1-11-12.

Enjoy the event!
Grr and Woof,
Sarge, COP

OMD- we think your Mom and our MOm are twins! It must be the blonde moment thing going on with them! When WHN was in the ARmy, she always carried two steno pads to write stuff down. SOOOOO, she would always forget to check them. THEN she started writing notes on her hand, all the way up her arm to the elbow! The other officers would tease her, but at least she remembered to do the stuff written on her arm!

Oh Sarge your Mom is adorable with all her notepads :) My Mom writes things down all the time too. Have you heard of the Einstein Theory? No not the mathematical one, the memory one.

One day Einstein was talking with a stranger on the street. They were having a grand time chit chatting about important stuff. When it was time to part, the other fellow asked Einstein for his telephone number. Einstein said he didn't know what it was. The other fellow said" How in the world can a super mathematical genius such as yourself not know his own telephone number?!". Einstein replied, I have it written down. Why should I clutter my mind with such things when I can just write them down and forget about them?

Now I know why peeps say this guy was such a genius :)

Sarge you have a genius for a Mom! :D

Happy New Year to you! :D

That is not that flaky, well maybe the notepads so close together, or is that just obsessive???

Does she have one of those cool pens that writes in water and upside down so she can take notes when you are supervising her bath?
Maybe you should make a note to get one.
Or one with a flashlight thingee on the end for middle of the night notes!

Did she see that the New Years confetti was made up of notes from people making wishes in Times Square?

Looking forward to hearing more about your peeps.

It is really funny to us as we read the different Flake posts how much all our peeps are alike. Our Mom is a list-aholic, lots of notepads, lots of lists. And of course when she NEEDS the list, you guessed it, she can't find it.

We are working on our Flake post, but it won't be ready today. They are off to a birthday party for the twins - they will be FIVE tomorrow.

Wishes to you for 2012 to be happy, healthy, peaceful, and love-filled.

And we thought SHE was forgetful! Your mum has HER beat by miles. SHE just has a calendar that everything goes on, because SHE loses the notes SHE makes!!!!

Good one, Sarge. (Have you ever chewed up one of her notes or note pads?)

BOL! MOM is the same way EXCEPT, she does not write things down, she just forgets and forgets and forgets. I've watched her walk into the office for something then not remember what it is she needs. Not once, not twice, not three times but four times in a matter of less than an hour. She really should invest in those note things.
Blessings,
Goose

Sarge, our mom is constantly writing notes too. Mostly on her hand, but every week when she cleans out her purse, there is a pile of notes. Our mom must be flaky too.

Hi Sarge, mum can't understand why your mum is flaky. It all seems so normal to her. She probably doesn't realise she is a flake too hehehe. Wait till we show you what our mum does. We don't know anyone else who does it so we will post soon. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
