  5. Dear Sarge
Sad story - Mommy won a whole flat of baby chicks when she was like 8 years old. She thought she would be helpful and put them outside so they could get fresh air (I don't remember where she said her mommy was). So she put them "up high" on the top of the dog house. . . and when she went back. . . the dog had eaten them. Talk about TRAUMA!!!

  12. Years ago, Mom flew for this little commuter airline building up her hours to make her resume look better. They hauled people and freight in the little multi engine prop planes. One route they had they loaded a whole BUNCH of chicks in the cargo hold. You could hear them from the back seats of the plane "Cheep Cheep Cheep". It was the last flight of the night and there were only a couple of passengers. One of them came up to the cockpit (ah - the old days) and asked about the noise of chicks. Mom comes back there, since she was just the copilot - listens (the cheeping was REALLY loud) and said "sorry - I don't hear anything. ."
