Hey Everyone!
Wow, I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving here in the USA! I was thinking of a fun Flashback Friday for today and remembered an event I hosted back in November of 2011.
It was called GIVE US THE BIRD! Do you remember it?!?
The rules are amazingly simple. Just post a bird pix on your own blog during the event week.
Any bird pix will do.
v Real, live birds from your territory, house, yard, park, trails, neighborhood, feeder, garden.
v Foodables, turkey drumsticks, chicken nuggets, hot wings, chicken kibbles, duck tenders.
v Paintings or sculptures of birds, any bird crafts, any artsy birds.
v Bird toys from your stash, stuffie ducks, unstuffy birds, squeaky bird shaped toys.
v Pix of birds from the internet, cartoons, television, movies, books.
You can post just one pix on one day, or multiple pix on multiple days during the event. Your choice. Then leave me a comment so I know you pawticipated. On Sunday, Nov 27th I’ll take each name from the comments and a winner will be drawn at random. The winner has their choice of prizes. Either a collar from Clara’s Collars or a $20 pack of foodables selected especially for the winner.
Oh, it was a lot of fun! I posted every day and these are a few of the pix I used:
Wild Pennsylvania turkey in my yard!
Male grossbeak at the feeder on my deck!
Mom's favorite picture...colored pencil sketch of a hummingbird!
Wild Pennsylvania turkey after Dad went KABLAMMMO and put him in the pot! BOL
A ginormous woodpecker on my tree!
A local bobwhite sitting on Mom's hand!
A Ruffed Grouse walking down my road! They are the State bird of PA.
When the event was over, there was a total of 35 furiends who had pawticipated by posting something about birds. Here are all of the names:
All of the names went into a bowl and Dad drew the winner....it was the Slimmer Pugs!
The whole event was a ton of fun and I hope you enjoyed this look back to the Fall of 2011. You can click back to my posts from 11-21 through 11-27-11 to see all of the action.
Grr and Woof,

wow that was a super flashback. it's great to see what kind of birds you have in your area, seems even the birds are bigger in the U.S. than in the ole world... and they look much tastier :o)
we use to love to do giveaways and competitions but the cost of postage just got to much for mom's piggy bank
Do you consider bacon birdlike?
