Hello Blogville!
Toodleee-ooo Turkle!

Well, we had a question last week about our swimming pools. Our furry, ginormous friend, Mango, asked to see pictures of our two pools. They are a little hard to see in our crabitat because they're sorta small and natural looking. Here are a few closer pictures so you can see better:

Here I am, Beachnut, testing my freshwater pool with my toe before taking a plunge. In this picture, they both have sponges in them in case we want to use them to climb out. The little pool further back is the saltwater one.

Now, I'm walking through the brush next to the saltwater pool. Every now and then "The Hands" change all of our decorations around in our crabitat and so things aren't always in the same places from picture to picture.

This is me along the edge of my fresh pool. I'm getting ready for a dip!

Since we're used to them now, no more sponges in there. They were only there in case we needed them to climb our way out of the water.

Gurgle, gurgle, gurgle. I'm a really good swimmer...well, actually I just sort of walk along the bottom. I like getting washed off.

All done. Time to get out before my leggies get all wrinkled! Teeheehee. Doesn't my shell look all clean now? Aaaahhhh.

Wow, another week flew by me! It's time again for Half Full Friday. If you're not up on this, here's the scoop:

By participating, I'm deciding to see the glass as half full instead of half empty; I'm choosing to concentrate on the positives instead of dwelling on the negatives. The Half Full Friday posts are a way to do just that. They're a list of the things in my life that have brought me happiness over the past week. I'm determined to find something good in each day. So, I had a lot of good things this week and I'm glad to get to share them with all of you.

I had to go to the dogtor on Saturday. Now, normally that's a really, really bad thing for everyone involved. I'm not very good at this...actually the truth is that I get down right nasty about the whole business. However, this time it was just for routine yearly junk and for some reason I got really drowsy and mellow before my appointment and didn't really care too much about the yucky stuff that was going on. That's a nice switch for me, the dogtor and my peeps who normally have a hard time with my wickedness! BOL. Anyway, it was almost dreamy for me and I just napped the rest of the day away. Strange! When I talked to my peeps about this, they just chuckled at me. Weird!

I found out that My Bestest Girl Zona (who could still use some healing vibes for her leggies) and I were voted Princess and Prince of the big Valentine's Day dance! Wow, that's so great. She's a beauty fur sure.

My crabby girls, Shelldon & Beachnut received a Blogger award from their boyfriend Turkle! OMD were they ever excited. That was really nice for them.

I received The HUG Award from my good furiend, Nola. This is so special for me and I'm totally humbled. I passed the award on to my bestest buddy, Bert who most definitely deserves it. BTW: He is in urgent need of power of the paw for his icky stomach surgery. Get well super-soon, Bert!

That about covers my week! It was pretty good overall. I got just enough snow to do zoomies once or twice and these awards really made me a happy pooch. I hope all of you had a half-full week too!

Crabby Monday 10

Toodlee-oooooo Turkle!

Here's another visit from us for Crabby Monday. Gosh we girls were so excited to hear that our dreamy Turkle gave us an award! Here it is:

Thanks so much, sweet Turkle for thinking of us. Now we'll tell 7 things about us.

1. We are hermit crabs. We are nocturnal and tropical which means we like nighttime and we like sunny hot beaches. Here's a closeup of me, Shelldon:

2. We live in a crabitat in Sarge's house. It looks like this:

3. The "hands" keep our crabitat filled with bushes, rocks, empty shells, food. We have four little antennae that look all bent and crooked. We use these to explore our world. Can you see them here in this profile pix?:

4. We sometimes drink and swim in fresh water, and sometimes in salt water. The "hands" make sure we have both. We have to breathe air, so when we take a dip, we come back out to breathe.

5. For food, we eat anything you'd sniffle out on a beach. Things like oranges, bananas, coconut, fish, eggshells. We don't eat with our biggest claw. That one's just for fighting, but we have a smaller one that pulls food into pieces and an even smaller one that lifts it up to our mouths. Here's a pix of of our legs:

6. We were competitors in Mango Minster in the Adventure Animals category because we love to climb over everything. Sometimes we look like little tanks plowing through life. We like to climb rocks, brush, and up the corners of our crabitat. We went to the Blogville Valentine's Day party with our shelly date, Turkle. We had so much fun and we really loved the new Blogville Community Park Aquatics Center. We wore our fancy red feather boas for the occasion. Speaking of wearing things, we sometimes change shells when we outgrow one or get tired of the same old look. Then we get nekkid and climb into a new one!

7. We are NOT EDIBLE!!!

Don't even think about it, Sarge! You do and we'll give you such a pinch! *Giggles*

Half Full Friday

Hey Everyone!

Wow, I got this cup to use for my Half Full Fridays! Look what it says. Perfect!

So, you all remember that this is my post to show how the past week has been half full for me.

Well, that's easy! This was a SUPER AMAZING WONDERFUL week in my life.
First up was the pawesome Valentine's Day party. Thanks, Jess & Glacier for hosting this event. I got to rock out with PawsBang and visit with all of my great furiends from all over Blogville. It was a fabulous time.

I had a great time with My Bestest Girl Zona. She looked so beautiful and she's a perfect girlfuriend. Then, I found out her dogtor visit went pretty well and she's back home and doesn't even have to wear the cone of shame! Please stop by and give her some healing vibes.

And, before the big Vday party, I got to stretch my Long Paw of the Law and protect the streets of Blogville. It was hard work, and I'm pretty sure I made a few furiends a little unhappy, but I'm glad to have done my duty.

AND: My peeps bought me a new car! Introducing our New Ru...

Of course, she had to be decorated with the "Don't Litter, Spay Neuter Adopt" and "Bark" stickers from my furiends Road Dogs. Isn't she the most hot looking Subaru since our last Subaru?!? BOL.

AND, if that weren't enough....it is MangoMinster time! Voting and judging is underway and there are a bunch of winners already announced. This is such a marvelous event for all of Blogville. My crabby girls Shelldon & Beachnut had a blast competing and every group has a great bunch of entries. Thanks, Mango for hosting a classy and fun event.

OMD Everyone!! The big event is finally here! Thanks so much to Jess & Glacier for hosting such a pawesome party. You guys thought of everything...Entertainment, yummers, raffle prizes, royalty contest and on and on.

So, I have this TREMENDOUSLY HUGE SURPRISE FOR MY BESTEST GIRL ZONA! WE'RE GOING TO THE PARTY IN HIGH STYLE. HOW ABOUT A RIDE IN A

BRAND NEW CAR!!

That's right, my peeps bought a brand new camellia red pearl Subaru Forester just so that I can escort my beloved in a valentine's colored, fabulous vehicle.

Zona girl, I surely hope this is a wonderful surprise for you and I'd be so happy if this lifts your spirits and makes you feel joyful for our big date.

Here's our official pix. Zona has her corsage on and we are in our vday matching bandanas. I'm crossing my paws that we get some big votes for the King and Queen contest.

I'm trading off jamming with my pals in PAWSBANG and dancing with my sweet, gorgeous Zona.

Gosh, the big Valentine's day party is almost here. We're really excited about our date with the dreamy Turkle. He has a beautiful shell. Don't forget to link over and vote, buy yummers, get raffle tix etc.

Wow, it's time already for another Half Full Friday! This is where I celebrate the notion that the food bowl is always half full rather than half empty. It's finally February, which means the big Vday event post is up and running and the party...

is right around the corner. This week, my Bestest Girl Zona and I got our pix submitted for the King & Queen contest for the big Valentine's Day event! Woohoooo.

This is such a fun party with lots of exciting things to do.

It got to be a sunny and warm 55 degrees here around the middle of the week! That was a nice change, but then yesterday Punxsutawney Phil (who is practically my neighbor!) saw his shadow so there will be more...

SNOW ZOOMIES in my near future! That's wonderful!

I got a pawesome surprise pressie from my Bestest Girl Zona! Check out my loot...

That's right...it's a new Camodana! It's perfect and I love it just like I love my Zona Girl.

AND: Frankie's puppy Ernie is finally feeling better! Boy, I'm so relieved about that. Poor little guy's had a rough time.

Wow, this Half Full Friday thing is really fun! It's nice to look back on your week and see what was great about it.

Half Full Friday is a series of weekly posts that Eyegirl originally started in June 2009. We believe that a lot of our happiness is determined by our attitude about the things that happen to us. So by participating, I'm deciding to see the glass as half full instead of half empty; I'm choosing to concentrate on the positives instead of dwelling on the negatives. The Half Full Friday posts are a way to do just that. They're a list of the things in my life that have brought me happiness over the past week. I'm determined to find something good in each day. Are you? For the next week, I'd like to challenge each of you to keep a list of at least one thing that brought you happiness each day.

Here is my list for this week:

My bestest girl Zona is working on our pix so that we can enter the King & Queen contest for the big Valentine's Day party.

My Dad has had the sickies all week and has been home with me where he belongs! Lots more Sarge time for him. I'm doing my bestest dogtoring and snuggling to help him feel better. It's just a bad cold, but he sure feels yucky. I don't really mind though, since he's doing a lot of sleeping. I'm great at helping with that! BOL.

Monday was a holiday so my Mom was off and stayed home with me where she belongs! Lots more Sarge time for everyone. BOL

Frankie's puppy Ernst got his bobble-ectomy and is getting along very well.

My crabby girls Shelldon & Beachnut submitted their entry for Mango Minster.

Thursday the propane truck guy came to my house just so that I could bark like a wildman and try to bash him!

On the day Mom stayed home to give extra nursing to Dad, she took our trashcan down our long hill to the dropoff point. Why is that half full?!? Well, because she let me ride along!! I don't get too many rides in the winter, but this was a blast. She let me bounce all over the car and I went squeeeeeeeee like a crazy pup. I chased cars from inside the car and barked at deer. It was wonderful! She even took me back up and PAST our house all the way to the top and back down again so I could totally enjoy the ride. WOW!

That's about it for me, and I hope you all had a half full week too!

Crabby Mondays...Mango Minster Entry

Hello Blogville!
Shelldon and Beachnut here with a very special edition of Crabby Monday to introduce our Mango Minster entry for the Adventure Animals category! If you haven't checked out MM, click on it to see the full scoop. You don't want to miss this fun-filled, action-packed event!

First, a little about us. Here we are:

We are Hermit Crabs.

We live in a crabitat in Sarge's house. It has two pools for us, one salt water and one fresh water. We have a food bowl that "The Hands" keep full of tropical yummers for us. We eat things like oranges, coconut, pecans, walnuts, salmon, tuna, peas, and we like to crunch on egg shells. Speaking of shells, we grow, and as we do, we get too big for our current houses, so we pick a new, bigger shell and move into it. I, Shelldon, already did this once since we moved here in November. "The Hands" even got to see it! That's kinda rare because we are mostly night critters. We two girls get along pretty well. Basically, we ignore each other and go about our crabby business. We are very happy to be part of Blogville and we are looking forward to attending the upcoming Valentine's Day Dance with our date Turkle. He's kinda dreamy and has a very handsome shell.

Okay, now for the Adventure Animal part of the post. We are small, but mighty! Check this out:

Shelldon here, playing the adventurous climber! That's my specialty. I love to climb and for my most daring feat, I like to clamp my claws on the glue seam in the corner of my crabitat and haul myself up, up, way, way up to the tippy top!

Snicker Saturday...Parade

Hey Everyone!

Crank up those speakers...I have MUSIC for this one!!

Wow, I can't believe it's 2012 already! Can you? Well, every New Year's Day my Mom and Mamaw (Frankie's Mom) watch the Rose Bowl Parade. They love the amazing floats all decorated with real and natural things like flowers and spices. This year it was held on January 2nd and my peeps watched as usual. Well, I gotta say it usually leaves me sort of at a loss since there is no toy playing involved, but this year I SAT UP AND TOOK NOTICE! Why, you may ask. Why, you may also ask, does this qualify as a Snicker Saturday.

Well, look at what was in the parade:

A surfer chickie dog in a pink tutu!

Look at the length of that float from up in the air!

It can barely turn the tight corner!

Go, little guy, go!

Great form there!

That's right, sports fans! There were water surfing dogs in the parade! BWAR HAR HAR. Look at those ca-ra-zy pooches hanging twenty! BOL. This was a world record breaking, ginormous float. It was the longest one ever and it weighed way more than 87 pounds too. Just look at all the water on it. It was the float for Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance Pet Food company. It gave my whole house one huge big laugh watching those sporty dogs doing their best surfing work.

So, there's your chuckle for the day.

Half Full Friday

Hey Everyone!
Wow, another week has flown by and here we are ready for the weekend. Time for me to join Sprinkles, my Wylde One furiend, with another look at my week from the angle that my food bowl is always half full rather than half eaten! BOL.

Here's my list for today:
* I co-hosted My Peep Is A Flake with Frankie and Road Dogs! It went so well and we had so much fun reading about all of the weird peeps in our lives. We had 25 pawticipants and had a random drawing for three prizes.

* I did a brief undercover assignment in the doggy jail and the best I can say is that it's over now! BOL.

* My Bestest Girl Zona and I are getting all organized for the big Valentine's Day Dance hosted by Jess & Glacier! We have our outfits all worked out and we're getting entered in the King & Queen contest!

* After my Peeps visited with these two:

last weekend, they brought me home 3 new stuffies as a peace offering. Perfect!!

* I got some more snow in my territory today! Great zoomie material.

My Mom is One Huge Big FLAKE

Hey Everyone!
Wow, I gotta give you the biggest, bestest example of Mom's flakey nature. Here it is:

SHE USED TO LOSE HER POCKETBOOK ALL THE TIME!
Really. She left her purse in odd places...alot. In her defense, she hates them. Always has. But still...

Here is the list of the worst cases.
1. She's walking through a mall in Cleveland, yes the big city of Cleveland of all places, when she hears her name over the loudspeaker. She runs to Customer Service and they have her purse. She left it in the bathroom. Not a penny was missing from it.

2. She drove 1 1/2 hours from her house in Ohio to her parents' house (Mamaw & Papaw Pantslegs-Frankie's Peeps) and then when she left, she forgot her pocketbook. She didn't notice until she got clear back home. Mom and Mamaw had to each drive half way to meet and relay-race the purse.

3. She went to a Sam's Club right outside of Pittsburgh, yes the big city of Pittsburgh. She did her shopping for her office and went back to work. She got all settled in at her desk and realized she left her pocketbook in the cart in the parking lot. She raced back (about 10 miles) through traffic to Sam's and found her purse in the cart in the parking lot right where she left it. Not a penny was missing from it.

4. She once worked in a building 55 minutes from home. One Saturday morning, she got ready to leave the house and realized that she left her purse in her desk at the end of the day Friday. Yup, drove all the way back to the office get it.

5. This one was the final straw...The last time she left her pocketbook anywhere...We think this one cured her permanently. She was on a weekend get-away, about 2 hours from the house, on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in a busy county near Pittsburgh. She stopped for lunch at one of those service plazas. Got back on the pike and realized she forgot her purse. She had to get off at the next exit, pay the toll, loop around and get back on the pike headed the other direction, get another toll ticket, drive past the plaza to the next exit, get off, pay the toll, loop around and get back on the pike going the right direction again, get a toll ticket, get off at the service plaza and run into the Burger King. Her purse wasn't in the booth! She ran to the counter and the manager had her purse. Someone turned it in for her. Not a penny was missing from it.

I couldn't make stuff like this up! BWAR HAR HAR. All these times (I only hit the high points), she has never permanently lost it and nothing has ever been taken from it. UNBELIEVABLY LUCKY! The turnpike one was about 12 years ago now, so it's been awhile since this has happened. She might actually be totally cured of this. BOL. Every now and then in the car going down the road, she suddenly jumps like she's been shot and reaches to be sure her purse is really there. Teeheehee. Talk about nutty! Total Flake Material! So, there you go. My Mom's a flake.

Half Full Fri and A Flakey Mom

Hey Everyone!

Wow, I get to do another Half Full Friday post!

I've got a nice list for this week.

Here we go:

1. Monday and Tuesday I got 8 inches of SNOW!!! Yeeehaaaaaa. That's enough for me to do serious snow zoomies and leaps into piles of fluff.

2. All of the Christmas stuff got put away and now my house is back to normal.

3. I still had some Christmas yummers left this week. I munched on the huge big bone my peeps gave me and I finished up the box of gourmet snackers that My Bestest Girl Zona gave me.

4. Zona agreed to be my date for the big Blogville Valentine's Day Dance!! For info about the dance, see Jess and Glacier's 1-4-12 post.

5. Mr Dell had some issues the other night, but a guy came from Hughesnet last night so that I could bark furiously at him while he fixed it all back up again! He was sure I was fierce and scary and now Mr Dell works just great.

Okay, back to the details about how my Mom's a great big ole Flake!

So, Mom has this issue...she's totally paranoid that she'll oversleep. She's been this way all her life. First for school, then college, then work. She has her own personal internal alarm clock so wound up that she usually wakes up about 5 minutes before the real alarm rings every, single, solitary time! No kidding. The alarm very, very rarely actually rings.

This is the headboard of Mom's side of the bed. The hat is there because before her eye surgery, she was hopelessly nearsighted and couldn't see a standard sized clock....so she has this one:

You can just barely see how HUGE the numbers are. They're so big and bright that she can't sleep unless it's covered by this hat. How nutty is this?!?!?! Now, see the other smaller clock? That's her paranoia backup wind-up clock in case the real one doesn't go off. Anytime there is storm activity, both alarms get set in case the real one doesn't work if the power goes out. Then the wind-up one kicks in. Of course, she is always awake minutes before either of these things could possibly go off, so no one in my house even remembers what they sound like! BWAR HAR HAR. She knows this, but still insists on setting them anyway.

When she travels for work it's even WORSE if you can believe that! She's really really paranoid that she'll oversleep and miss some meeting or something when she's travelling, so she goes totally crazy with the alarms then. Here's what she does:

1. Sets the hotel room alarm clock.

2. Sets the wind-up alarm that she takes from home (the hotel one might not work or the power might go off in her room...seriously...I'm not making this up!)

3. Requests a wake up call (in case the other alarms don't work...and she has those set in case the wake up call is forgotten!).

All of this, and she still wakes up minutes before any of the three have a chance to happen. This is so totally flakey I can't believe it. She has NEVER EVER EVER overslept for anything in her entire life. But, she sure is worried about that first time! BOL BOL BOL.

If you think this is all amusing, just wait until tomorrow's post. I'll give you the biggest, baddest, funniest, weirdest example of Mom's wackiest flake feature!

My Peep Is A Flake...yes Dad too.

Hey Everyone!
Wow, the Peep Flake event is still going strong! You have until the 7th to do your posts in order to be in our pawesome drawing.

So, I already dished on Mom 'cause she's the flakiest in my house, but even my beloved Dad is flakey. I can't deny it....and neither can he...but he tries!! BWAR HAR HAR.

So, here's how Dad's a flake. HE BREAKS THINGS.
Yes, that's right. Lots and lots of things. Sure he fixes things too sometimes, but lots of times he just fixes them to death! BOL. Now, when he and Mom hooked up, they were neighbors. So when he moved in with her, they opened both garage doors and drove truckloads across the yard. That's pretty funny too. But, after he was all moved in and all the hard work was done, he says to Mom over a cup of coffee...
"I should probably mention that I break things." Mom spit out a bunch of coffee laughing, but soon realized it's true, true, true, really true. She did realize that lots of things that got moved from one garage to the other sorta looked broken. One drill with a missing cord, another one with no on/off switch and a third one with no way to attach a bit. Lots of broken handles...hammers, hoe, rakes, shovels. I could go on and on and on. A few months ago, the coffee maker quit turning on. It was a $20 cheapie version, and Mom was headed to the trash with it, when SuperDad jumped up and announced "I can fix that!". Well, he did. It worked for about 2 weeks and quit again. Again to the trash and again stopped by Mr Fix or Break It. It worked for another few weeks and quit the third time. So Mom stayed right there while Dad tore it apart and...wait for it...not duct tape...superglued something in the wiring inside to fix it. Now you can probably see this coming. He put it back together and turned it upright. Mom reached over to flip the switch and it was SUPERGLUED totally STUCK He fixed it to death! BOL. Headed for the trash again, when Dad yelled WAIT. He plugged it in and IT WAS GLUED ON, not OFF. They actually plugged and unplugged it for about another 2 weeks before it broke one last time. Mom insisted it go to the trash. What a riot.

Anyway, there you go. My Dad's a flake becaues he breaks things. And sometimes fixes things to death.
And another thing: He loves to go fishing, but he sure falls in alot! BOL Really. He falls in along the bank and really likes to fall out of boats...alot! BWAR HAR HAR. I love him anyway...soggy socks and all!

So, here's my first Peep Flake post. Of course, Mom's up first 'cause she's way flakier than Dad.

My Mom's a flake because she has no memory. That's right, sports fans! No memory at all. Never has. She can't even blame this on getting old...she's never had a memory. What's flakey about that you ask...well, she WAY OVERCOMPENSATES! She obsessively keeps notes...everywhere...

all the time! BOL

This is the drawer under Mr Dell. Note there are 2 paperpads and 1 calendar.

This is the phone shelf above the car keys. Check out the notepad. This is no more than 3 feet away from Mr Dell's drawer.

This is the drawer in Mom's endtable. Check out the overabundance of notepads.

She has millions of them. They are a favorite gift for her because everyone knows she needs them.

She also obsessively picks them up everywhere she goes. (Klepto?)

Now, this is the back of Mom's beloved car. Note the Road Dogs bumperstickers!

Boy, I think Mom's beloved Ru needs a bath...really badly! BWAR HAR HAR.
The reason I'm showing the Ru is because:

Yup, you guessed it! Look above the visor. Check out the notepad and pen. She knows full well that if she has an important thought (ahem) going down the road, she'll never remember it when she gets home! BOL

On the odd (fat) chance that she doesn't have a notepad nearby (ahem again), she'll write on her hand.

So there you go. Talk about going OVERBOARD! There is major compensation happening here.
She always says..."If you tell me something and you don't see me write it down...better tell me again!"
BTW: You probably can't tell, but in the pix of the notepad on the phone shelf, the page is torn in half. Now, here's more Flake Proof...Mom's obsessive in her note taking, but she's also a true Tree Hugger. So if she makes a small note, she does it at the bottom of the sheet, then tears it off and uses the top half next time. WEIRD WEIRD WEIRD! She's got a gazillion of these, yet insists on using half-torn-off sheets all the time. Oh, boy.

It definitely is here in my part of the country. That means that hunters all wander off to the woods to their deer camps...some actually hunt, some do what these guys are singing about. Wow, I really love the cool Half Full Friday posts that our furiend Sprinkles always does and I keep meaning to do some of them myself. If you haven't visited her, click on her name above to see her blog. Anyway, I really want to pawticipate in this.

Here's my list:
~ Even though it was a really long, long, difficult, hard wait...I finally got to open all of my Christmas pressies and they were all wonderful!

~ It wasn't anyways near deep enough to make piles and jump into them, but we finally got a good dusting of snow this week!  It was enough to do a few zoomies in.

~ While my peeps didn't get very many, I sure got a ton of holiday cards!  They filled a whole section of one wall! Thanks to all of my furiends for sending them to me.

~ I am still deeply saddened at the loss for the Houston Pittie Pack, but I knew almost the instant that the Chip In for them reached $8,000 and I am so proud to be a part of Blogville.

~ Even though for some reason it's taken me furever, I think I'm finally in the swing of doing these Half Full Friday posts regularly now.

Wordy Wednesday From Sarges Mom

Hello Everyone. Sarge was kind enough to turn Mr Dell over to me for one post.

I wanted to take a minute to thank all of you in Blogville.
I may ramble a bit here, but I absolutely have to get this out in a post.

My Mom started blogging in Aug of '08. You all know her as Frankie Furter's mom, Lana. I was surprised at first because she is not a tech person. Not a big fan of email, cell phones, etc. She instantly loved it. I am not a tech person either. I hadn't owned a PC since the mid '90s and my cellphone is from 1996. No need for a puter since I didn't email, don't facebook, etc. In the Fall of 2010, Mom gave me a blog for Sarge. She created it and set it all up because I was enjoying her blog stories so much. I started taking my hubby to the library about twice each week to create a few posts and read a few. I was instantly hooked and surprisingly, so was my husband. We were both having too much fun to pack it all in at the library with their PC's. Blogville was so enjoyable to us both that in January of this year we shelled out $600 to buy Mr Dell and then rearranged our living area so that it is the center of our household. Just for the dogblog. I think people thought I was crazy for not having a PC in forever, then were sure I was crazy for buying one just for the dogblog. I don't care. That's exactly what happened, and why.

Along with not being a tech person, I'm really not a very sociable person either. I have my husband, whom I adore, my parents, whom I also adore, and Sarge, whom I also adore. I have a very small circle of friends and co-workers whom I care very much for. I am a homebody and do next to no other socializing. Except for one thing. This blog. My hubby and parents, Sarge, a few friends, Sarge's blog. This is the absolute truth. We moved a family antique to be able to hang Sarge's tapestry so that it is above Mr Dell right in the middle of our house. That's how important this all is to us.

I'm rambling and not getting to my point. This blog shouldn't fit my life at all, but other than a few people and Sarge, it is most of my life. Weird. I hadn't really thought much about this until the past weekend. Watching Blogville react first to Tucker's loss of his kitty, Scotsmad's loss of Kendra and especially the tragedy for the Houston Pittie Pack has effected me. Sadly, we often lose beloved furiends in Blogville, but this is different. I don't need to detail all of the specifics, you are all following them too. I can't think of any other group that would act so fast and on such a large scale. I know we hear about occasional other good deeds in our world, but this is different.

Okay, really too much rambling here. My point is that I want to thank all of you. I need to thank all of you for being such a positive part of my life, my husband's life and my Mom's life. The humor is so wonderful. The adventures are so fun to follow. The scenery and nature where many of you live is so fascinating to me. The dramas and sorrows that happen are touching to me. The creativity and talents are amazing to me. I am totally entertained by everything I find in Blogville. I am totally inspired and stunned by everything I find in Blogville. I care more about what happens with Blogville than most other things around me. I try to describe this all to my friends and co-workers and I know they sort-of get it. Some even follow us. But, I'm not sure I can come close to really explaining it to someone who isn't in it like we are. I'm pretty sure I'm not explaining this very well right now either. I hope you all understand this mess of a post. I love my life exactly the way it is and Blogville is a big part of that. It adds even more joy to my life. I live a quiet life, but I'd love to have Santa's Sleigh so I could zoom around the planet and meet every single person and pet that has been involved in this. All of you. I wish -really, really wish- I could meet all of you. Basically, please just know that I am thanking you all for being such an important, positive and big part of my life. Thank you for that.

Hey everyone!
Wow, I've been running the Blogville Commuity Calendar site for awhile now and I thought I should check back in with you, my good furiends and see what you think. I'll take any questions, answers, concerns, complaints, suggestions with welcome paws! BOL Be honest, please.

It has not been hard to run, so I think I'll keep it up if you all find it to be valuable.

I have had a few suggestions already. Frankie felt it would be better if it posted every day so it would always pop up fresh for the followers. Great idea and I'm doing this already! Thanks, Cuzz. Good one! Someone else asked if I could add barkdays, blogaversaries, gotchadays etc. I thought about that and even tried to start a list, but it seemed really long and I wasn't sure where exactly to put this. I agree it would be really nice to have, but I basically gave up on this one. Maybe I'll think about it again over the long, boring winter and try another shot at it. Also, Sugar gave it a great makeover awhile back and it looks better. Thanks Sugar for helping me out!!

Wow, I've got to share this with all of you! Remember when What's Her Name from Dachsies with Moxie made this pawesome tapestry for Mamaw to give to me?!?

Well, she did such an amazing job, that my Mom and I had her make Frankie Placemats to give to my Mamaw! Look how great they are!

So, over the Thanksdeermas holiday, we gave them to Mamaw and she about fainted! It turns out that Mamaw also had What's Her Name make a tapestry of Frankie's two wives Ruby & Penny. Not only did WHN make a gorgeous tapestry of the girls, she made these two pawesome pillows of Frankie and little Ernie!

So pretty!

Well, Mamaw's a really smart cookie, so she decided to take three of her new Frankies and add them to the bedding ensemble. Check out the results!

First, they talked me into a really, really, really long undercover assignment in the local canine slammer. That's right Blogfans, they had me spend SEVEN (7) full days doing research and covert ops in the big house at Thanksgiving. Okay, so I did it. It surely wasn't pretty but I did my COP job.

Then, I find out that they went off and had a long visit with my beloved Mamaw and Papaw Pantslegs while I was working hard for a living! Can you believe the nerve?!? I'm snout-to-the-grindstone and they're living it up at Frankie's house. BOOOOOOOOO. So, now they got to see the cool peeps AND visit with Frankie and Frankie's new puppy Ernie! I haven't even met him in the fur yet. *SNORT* Pththtthttttthhhhhh. Rats.

And another thing!! It turns out that my peeps got to meet Sagira and her peeps in the reals too! Oooooo I'm really miffed now. STEAMING OUT MY EARS! Sagira is so cool and my peeps saw her run an Agility Trial. They said it was totally pawesome and she is so pretty and sweet. Her peeps were super nice to talk with. Sagira did a great job! Warooooooo Howwwwwlllll. I missed it all. More !#$^%&*) words for my peeps.

Furthermore....I can't have my pressies yet! Yes, you read right. I have received pressie packs from my gift exchange pal Finn and pressies from Sagira and pressies from Mamaw and Papaw Pantslegs. Know what I've been allowed to have out of all this loot????? Just this:

Now granted it's really cool. Papaw Pantslegs made this for me personally. You put treats in it then let me bash it all over the house so the yummers fall out. He did a great job and I love, love, love it. But, that's it! The rest is aparently "RESERVED FOR CLOSER TO CHRISTMAS". Oh, come on now! Double rats. Like Frankie says, "Oh Cat Crap"!. I'm pretty miserable.

So, there you go. That's my (again insert female dog word here) for the day...actually for several days. Pthththththtththhhh to my peeps. I sure hope all of you, my Blogville Furiends can feel my pain. Anyway, I'm hoping that since it's officially December, maybe I'll get my pressies soon.....before I grow old and gray.

Well, here's a final Birdie Snicker. This is our running family joke...TURKEY!

Mamaw started this years ago as a joke on the hunters who came home without turkey for the oven. So, she bought one of these squeeky toy turkeys and left it for the menfolks. BOL

It became a long running gag to see where a turkey would turn up. Mom & Dad made this mobile and it always hangs when there's a family get-together. Turkey has turned up in the fridge, under the toilet seat, strung across the parking spaces, inside bait buckets, pockets, boots, pillowcases, etc, etc, etc. Well, maybe you have to be here to appreciate it, but trust me it always gets a laugh. Why not give the idea try with some unsuspecting peep in your pack! BOL

Give Us The Bird...Day Five...Bobwhites and Big Birds

Hey To All My Blogville Furiends!
Wow, the finale is here already! This is the last day of Give Us The Bird. I hope you've had fun. I sure have. Don't forget the big drawing will be on Sunday the 27th. Everyone who posted some sort of bird during this week, and commented so I knew it happened...will be included in the drawing. The winner has his/her choice of a collar from Clara's Collars or a $20 valued foodable package. Pawesome huh?!?

HIT THAT VOLUME AGAIN...THERE'S STILL MUSIC!

So, here' s my last big birdie post. I saved this one because it's so much fun. Several years ago when my peeps first moved to my house, the territory belonged to a covey of Bobwhites. They were amazingly friendly and learned that my peeps are fun and good for lots of treats...seeds you know. So here are the pix. Excuse the lack of quality, this was all before the magical, fancy flashy beast.

They were living under the raft leaned against the house!

Isn't that pawesome?!? Wild Bobwhites right here visiting with my peeps! Up close and personal. They stayed around all during the Winter of '04-05. Most left in the Spring, then some came back that Winter. The following Spring they all wandered away leaving my peeps sorrowful and wishing they'd come back. Great memories.

And here come the BIG BIRDS!

This pawesome hawk was rescued and Mom saw it at an

Earth Day event.

This amazing owl was rescued too!

One morning on a camping trip, my peeps rolled out of their tent to find me laying on the creekbank watching these Canada Geese honking their way downstream. BOL

This noble birdie was strutting around my driveway!

It's a Ruffed Grouse, the State birdie of Pennsylvania.

Give Us The Bird...Day Four...Thanksgiving Turkey

Wow, it's finally Thanksgiving here in the U.S. and I'm celebrating it for the 4th day of
Give Us The Bird!

DON'T FORGET THAT VOLUME! YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THE SOUND!

Without further ado...here come the Gobblers!

Why does the turkey cross the road?

Look! It's a turkey explosion in my yard!

They're right out front, across from Mom's Subaru.

Well, sometimes a gobbler gets too close and Dad has to bash 'em!

Turkey season on my hill!

And after Dad bashes one of them, they cook in a pot like this!

You can almost smell it through your Mr Dell!

And here's the result! Cooked, fresh, wild turkey.

Mom cooks it up in the crockpot and the result is delish.

Excellent for turkey noodle soup and

even better for turkey salad.

If you think chicken salad is good, you should try this!

Boy, I suppose this is a morbid way to end today's post, but that's sorta the theme to Thanksgiving. At least for the turkey. BWAR HAR HAR. Here's a funny to lighten that mood...If your peeps are oven-roasting your turkey, be sure they remember to:
