Crabby Monday...Beachnut Wanderings

Hello, Blogville Darlings.     It's me, your Beachnut girl, here to visit with you today.

It seems our splendid Shelldon has been buried for 87 years, but really it has been about 3 months now.   Goodness, I must admit that I am a tad concerned for her, but we cannot disturb her now.   She most assuredly buried in order to molt and a hermit crab busy molting should always be given her privacy.  Teeheehee      I know that The Hands are certainly concerned for her, but crabs our size sometimes take up to two months for the entire process.   Our Shelldon had a ginormous molting bubble that we all saw when she changed shells just before burying.   The molting bubble is a sack of loose skin that stores nutrients and water for us so that we have everything we need while we are buried for our molt.   My, aren't we fabulous and fascinating ladies?!?    POL     So, we must figure that our Shelldon is simply enjoying her alone-time and will emerge when she is ready to premier her newly freshened up self.

Meanwhile, I've had our trendy crabitat all to myself.   Oh, I've had great crabby girl fun wandering around and enjoying our hidey holes, our loft and all of the gourmet foodables.    Teeheehee

The Hands made this ritzy hut from a real coconut!

Our loft is the most stylish of our crabitat decor.     The stairs are natural hardwood, of course.   We still have our glamorous See Beautiful decoration from our darling Goose.

These long and lovely leggies are perfect for climbing around our loft!

So, that's a little peek at life in the crabitat here at Sarge's house!
Speaking of Sarge, he whispered to me that he now has 25 entries in his upcoming Cattle STAMPede for the Blogville Rodeo!    Goodness that's so very fabulous and we crabby girls are ready too.

The deadline to enter your cattle brand request is midnight on July 1st.   Please surf back to his older posts for information and all sorts of hints and symbols and lettering ideas to help you design your own exclusive brand.

Until next week,

Ciao and Little Pinches,
Beachnut (and Shelldon)

Snicker Saturday... I ate WHAT?!?

Hey Everyone!
Wow, I have a great chuckle for you today!   This one makes my peeps shake their head in wonder.   BWAR HAR.

Now, I'm a seriously picky eater.    I'm a meat kinda guy.    Most veggies and fruits get a big ole BLECH from me.    Lots of you, my furiends, eat carrots and melons and potatoes and eggs and all sorts of goodies.    Not me.  NOPE.   Meat, peanut butter and cheese is about it.

So, imagine the reaction when my Mom discovered that I LOVE RAW PIE DOUGH!!

She was making several batches of pie dough for freezing and I was just drooling.   I hovered and stared until she finally got the hint.

She actually LAUGHED AT ME!   She called over to Dad and said, "check this out, your dog thinks he wants this!"    Ha Ha Ha   "Okay, I'll give you a bite and you'll hate it!"    Ha Ha Ha again.

 HUMPF.    I'll show her!

YUMMERS!      Oh, you should have heard them howling and laughing!      I love it.

So, now my Mom calls this PIE DOUGH FOR FIDO!!

BWAR HAR HAR

Hey, don't forget that midnight on July 1st is the absolute deadline for sending your request for my Cattle STAMPede!

FFHT Day

Hey Everyone!
Wow, it's Fractured Fryday Hairy Tails day in Blogville!   OMD I love this event and send my thanks to the Doods for sponsoring it fur us.

Okay, this month's inclusion is:   I knew I needed a good excuse for...
Here I go:

I knew I needed a good excuse for this,
but stealing that candy bar was foodable bliss.
I hoped it was something my Mom wouldn't miss.

I grabbed it from the table,
because I was able.
I scarfed up the chocolate and even the label.

Holy cow did my Mom ever scream,
"I ate it in my sleep it would seem."
"I must have been starved in my dream."

Boy, was she ever mad at me,
and they were scared at how sick I might be.
I never got sick and I ate it with glee.

My excuse wasn't one I could win,
stealing her Hershey's was really a sin.
Someday I hope I can do it again!

BWAR HAR HAR
ahem.

Cattle STAMPede Reminder

Hey Everyone!
Wow, the big Blogville Rodeo is right around the corner and I've been working my paws off!   BOL   So far, I have 19 brands for my Cattle STAMPede.   *WHEW*    They are all so creative and fun.   In case you missed it, here are the details:

Cattle  STAMPede
For the upcoming Blogville Rodeo on July 9th I am hosting a Cattle STAMPede.    Now, here in Blogville we won’t allow red hot, burning, painful branding of our cattle.  NOPE!    Instead, we’re STAMPING our cows.  BOL    I will arrange for your very own cow to be ink stamped with your very own customized brand.     You can design it yourself and send it to me.   Or you can send a description of your design request to me and I'll work it up for you.    Either way is fine and dandy, so send your brand request to me using   lfurman1987ATyahooDOTcom by July 1st and I’ll get to work.

Here is mine:

And here is the brand that FnE will have for the event:

Get the idea??    For more examples, click backward to my previous posts and I have all sorts of symbols and samples and descriptions to help you out.

Otherwise, if I don't have yours yet...get cracken!!  BOL   Hope to hear from all of you.

Snicker Saturday...Redneck Edition - And Our Library

Hey Everyone!
Wow, I'm so excited about the new Blogville Library!   Have you seen it yet?   Well, you should.  Check out Sally Ann by clicking her name.  She's our new Librarian and if you visit her post you'll see how to get your very own library card.  Mine is wonderful and I used it already to get a Stephen King for Mom (he's scary) and a detective book for me.  BOL   My card is on my sidebar now.

Okay, so for your Saturday Chuckle:      Just look at this Redneck invasion!

 Oh, BWAR HAR HAR!
Now THAT belongs to a rugged outdoorsy peep fur sure.   BOL

AND it was parked right in front of THIS!
Yup, it's a vending machine for fishing worms!
Forget the Twizzlers or M&Ms...nope, grab the night crawlers instead.   BOL

Now, I gotta bark that I live in a fairly redneckish sorta territory, but this scene wasn't here in my home turf.   IT WAS AT FRANKIE'S!!!   BWAR HAR HAR again!         Now, I also gotta confess a bark that my Dad was at this place with Papaw Pantslegs.   Those two are definitely rugged ourdoorsy peeps and seeing that crazy truck and that really crazy vending machine didn't phase them a bit.   Must have looked perfectly normal to them!  BOL

So, there's your chuckle for today, my furiends.   Tell your peeps to check out the machine carefully before trying to by a Twinkie.     Just Sayin'.      :)

It's A Cattle STAMPede!! and boxing!

Hey Everyone!
Wow, I'm so super excited about the big rodeo coming up next month!   I already have about 15 entries for my part of the event.       In case you missed the details, here you go:::

Cattle  STAMPede
For the upcoming Blogville Rodeo on July 9th I am hosting a Cattle STAMPede.    Now, here in Blogville we won’t allow red hot, burning, painful branding of our cattle.  NOPE!    Instead, we’re STAMPING our cows.  BOL    I will arrange for your very own cow to be ink stamped with your very own customized brand.     You can design it yourself and send it to me.   Or you can send a description of your design request to me and I'll work it up for you.    Either way works, so send your brand request to me using   lfurman1987ATyahooDOTcom by July 1st and I’ll get to work.

And again, here are a few pointers for designing your own brand:

  • "Crazy": An upside down symbol. An upside down R would be read as "Crazy R".
  • "Reverse": A reversed symbol. would be read as "Reverse K". Reverse is sometimes called "Back" (i.e. a backwards C would be read as "Back C").
  • "Lazy": Symbols turned 90 degrees. Also, a symbol turned 90 degrees, lying on its face (or right hand side) can be read as "Lazy Down" or "Lazy Right" .
  • "Flying": a symbol that starts and ends with a short serif or short horizontal line attached before the left side of the top of the symbol and attached to the right side of the symbol, extending to the right of the symbol.
  • "Walking": a symbol with a short horizontal line attached to the bottom of the symbol, extending to the right of the symbol.
  • “Running”: a letter with a curving flare attached to the right side of the top of the letter, extending to the right, with the symbol sometimes also leaning to the right like an italic
  • "Over": a symbol over above another symbol, but not touching the other symbol. An H above a P would be read as "H Over P".
  • "Bar": a short horizontal line. For example, a short horizontal line over an M or before an M would be read as "Bar M".
  • "Box": a symbol within a square or rectangle or a square or rectangle by itself. A box with a P inside of it would be read as "Box P".
  • "Diamond": a symbol within a four sided box, the box tilted 45 degrees or a four sided box tilted 45 degrees by itself.
  • "Circle": a symbol within a circle, or a circle by itself. A circle with a C inside of it would be read as "Circle C".
  • "Hanging": a symbol beneath another symbol and touching the other symbol. Read as " H Hanging P", or just "H P".
  • "Swinging": a symbol beneath a quarter circle, the open side of the quarter circle facing the symbol, with the symbol touching the quarter circle. For example, a H with a quarter circle over it, with the top of the H touching the quarter circle would be read as "Swinging H".
  • "Rocking": a symbol above a quarter circle, the open side of the quarter circle facing the symbol, with the bottom of the symbol touching the quarter circle. For example, a H with a quarter circle under it, is read as "Rocking H".

And a few examples:   THIS IS MY OFFICIAL BRAND::

And a few more tips:

So, you get the idea!    If you haven't STAMPeded up your cattle yet, I hope to hear from you soon.   Get a MOOOOOOve on!     Oh, BWAR HAR HAR   ahem.

Working Wednesday...Employee Reviews

Hey Everyone!
Wow, the work of your Blogville Police Commissioner is never done!   BWAR HAR HAR     Geez I've got a big job to do today for Working Wednesday.    Hmmmm, I've been putting this off and today's the day to paw down and crank it out.

I need to complete the Blogville Safety Staff Employee Performance Reviews!

Well, okay....coffee and donut first.     ahem.

Holy Moley!   Look at all this paperwork.   Well, I can do this.   Gotta get it done.

The whole department has been so busy and we've all accomplished so much!

We had our amazing Safety Information Week and everyone gets a gold star for that one.

We got in some snazzy new equipment!

There have been a few criminal trials and we've gathered evidence and testified and helped Ernie The Attorney win every case so far.     That's another gold star for us!

We brought in a whole new class of recruits and got them all through the Academy.  That was a ginormous project.

Well, I can't forget that we were able to get all of the segways repaired.   ahem

Of course, we all fought crime like crazy!

Okay, now that I've looked over our jobs from the last year or so, I can get these done.

Hmmm   Top Cop Bites first...he definitely gets an Outstanding!   He runs the department and has worked over the PT Crasher Gang with gusto.   Outstanding work with our Academy too and testifying in court and securing all of our event buildings.  Yup, Outstanding.

Now, Deputy Top Cop Ranger...he also gets an Outstanding!   He uses our BPD Copter like a pro and really coordinated an outstanding Police Academy with all of the classes and instructors.   Definitely Outstanding for Ranger.

The various Patrol Officers have really been Outstanding too!   Ruby works rodent control, Sully patrols bunches, Angus patrolled the local donut store with anonymous tips.   Outstanding for all of them!

Okay, the Detectives have done Outstanding work as well.   Wallace, Charlie, Zaphod have coordinated all around the world for us and done a great job.    Bertie has been totally Outstanding as world wide investigator and forensics coordinator.

Of course, Hailey runs the office and keeps the jail safe and secure...outstanding for her too!   Our Bloodhound officer, Bentley and assistant Pierre have been Outstanding helpers getting evidence for our trials and hunting down criminals!      Sammy ensures we have an Outstanding fire department and as Chief has made sure we are all safe.

Lets see....then we have all of the newer Junior Officers.   Wow, for new recruits and rookies, they have done an Outstanding job too!   They've learned so fast.    Okay, that's Outstanding for Dui, Riley, Whitley, Mickey, Easy, Shelby, Freya Rose, Speedy, Sophie, Arty, Abby, Finley, Princess Leah, Sidney.    Outstandings all around!

Hmmmm, I think I'll order a stamper with "OUTSTANDING" on it and that'll get these done in no time flat.  BWAR HAR HAR     I'll get these over to the Co-Mayorz for their approval and I'm finised for another year.   *WHEW*

Happy Working Wednesday, everyone.
And to all of the Safety Department Employees:   Don't hesitate to do your own Working Wednesday posts.   We know you are all out there doing outstanding work, so why not let us know what you're up to out there!
