Hey Everyone!
Wow, this is the third and final post of the adventure my peeps had at our local PA Fish Hatchery! Did you see the last two? If not, please click back and check them out.
So, inside the building where the walleye program was happening, and that ginormous aquarium was located, they also had these big troughs filled with lots of fishies. They were all sorted out by species so that the visitors could get a close look at them:
Big trough for big fish!
Watch your finger, Dad! That muskie is huge!
Hey, Catfish! MOL
Check out the crowd! They usually have 4,000 people that day. My peeps had a blast.
So, check out the events in your territory. I bet lots of the nature-based agencies in your area hold events like this and you probably never noticed before. Search the websites for your local agencies and see what you find! It could be a fascinating event like this one.
Grr and a Final Fishie Woof,

ReplyDeleteYour dad's finger did look like a juicy worm.....good thing that Musky wasn't hungry.
ReplyDeleteAt first, we thought that looked like a sporting event...you know...fish racing.

Your dad is LUCKY that the Muskie didn't want a FINGERling lunch.

I'm glad your dad's fingers are still complete. Imagine he would do that with a sharkie :o) I never had a catfish, my dad said it's the best. Have a super monday and if you celebrate: have a funny cinco de mayo!

ReplyDeleteI have a hatchery near me but not at all so sophisticated as this one. Near me they have outside four ponds. Sometimes we see them netting fish and they put them in buckets load them in a truck and take them to lakes. Your place looks wonderful to visit. Catfish for dinner?

Our mom says we have a fish hatchery near us. Maybe we can get her to take us to see the fishes.
ReplyDeleteHow do they keep them so clean? We had a fish tank but couldn't keep the thing clean. That is very cool though.
