PSA Frankie and Ernie

Hey Everyone!
Wow, Frankie and Ernie had a really bad wind storm!  They've lost the power to their territory and are getting by on generator electricity for now.  They wanted me to be sure to tell everyone that they have some minor damage, but are basically AOK.  Mamaw has a few posts pre-set to pop up for them, but they won't really be able to do comments, read, update posts, etc until that power gets all fixed up.   Don't worry...they'll be back as soon as they possibly can!

Until then, here are a few pix so you won't forget...

Snicker Saturday...Beach and Sports

Hey Everyone!
Wow, it's time for your weekly laugh!  I really look forward to trying to give you a good chuckle every Saturday.

This week, I'm celebrating our upcoming July 4th vacation in HONOROOROO!

Why are gulls named seagulls? If they were by the bay, they'd be bagels!
What's the best day to go to the beach? SUNDAY!
Where does a ship go when it's sick? To the DOCK!
Why do fish swim in salt water? Because pepper makes them sneeze!
What do whales like to put on their toast in the morning? Jellyfish!
Where do rocks like to spend summer vacation? Pebble Beach!
Where does a fish go to borrow money? A loan shark!
Where do ghosts like to swim? The Dead Sea.
What do you call a witch who lives on the beach? A sandwitch!
What does a shark eat for dinner? Fish and ships!

A magician was working on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. The audience would be different each week, so the magician allowed himself to do the same tricks over and over again. There was only one problem: The captain's parrot saw the shows each week and began to understand how the magician did every trick. Once he understood he started shouting in the middle of the show: "Look, it's not the same hat" "Look, he is hiding the flowers under the table" "Hey, why are all the cards the Ace of Spades ?" The magician was furious but couldn't do anything; it was, after all, the captain's parrot. One day the ship had an accident and sank. The magician found himself on a piece of wood in the middle of the ocean with the parrot, of course. They stared at each other with hate, but did not utter a word. This went on for a day and another and another. After a week the parrot said: "OK, I give up. Where's the boat?"

Then I'm celebrating the upcoming Blogville Olympics and Cat-O-Lympics!

Q: Why isn’t suntanning an Olympic sport?
A: Because the best you can ever get is bronze.
Q: Why did they send the Olympic judge out in search of the lost wedding ring?
A: Because he was a medal detector.
Q: Why does the Olympic torch always start in Olympia?
A: Because it’s hard to put out a Greece fire.

Deciding to take up jogging, the middle-aged man was astounded by the
wide selection of jogging shoes available at the local sports shoe
store. While trying on a basic pair of jogging shoe, he noticed a minor
feature and asked the clerk about it. "What's this little pocket thing here on the side for?"
"Oh, that's to carry spare change so you can call your wife to come pick
you up when you've jogged too far."

Two horses were walking back to the stable after a day of training. One
said to the other "I can't understand why we are so slow; we come from
good stock, we have the best of food, great trainers, and yet we come
last in every race."
There was a dog running along side them who overheard and said, "I know
what your problem is. I have seen you race and it looks to me as if you
race off at the start really fast and use up all your energy and then
you have nothing left. What you should do is pace yourselves. What do
you think of that?"
One horse turned to the other and said, "Would you believe that? A
talking dog!"

One Halloween, a trick-or-treater came to a woman's door dressed as
"Rocky" in boxing gloves and satin shorts. Shortly after she gave
him some goodies, he returned for more.
"Aren't you the same 'Rocky' who left my doorstep several minutes
ago?" she asked.
"No," he replied, "I'm 'Rocky II'. I'll be back three more times."

Goings On

Hey Everyone!
Wow, it's another Half Full Friday!  Woohoooo.  Happy Weekend To All.
Half Full Friday is that day of the week where Sprinkles reminds us to see our glass as half full rather than half empty.  I'm cool with that!  Maybe you could join us by telling how your week was Half Full.

So, my week was actually pretty much middle-of-the-road.  Nothing really exciting, nothing really bad....EXCEPT for My Bestest Girl Zona's surgery!  I am still worried and so sorry that she has this awful ouchie, but her surgery went well and she's back home recovering.  WHEW!  Otherwise, this week's just humm-drummmmmmm.

Since there's nothing else exciting to tell....I'll just remind all of you about the Goings On in our world!

Check out the Blogville Community Calendar here to see all of the happenings.  Lots of my good furiends are having contests, challenges etc.  and you don't want to miss out.  Here are the current events:

Blogville's annual HonoRooRoo vacation and luau is scheduled for 7-4-12.  Instead of sending pictures to a host, and in honor of Fiesty Three, please plan your own posts to celebrate the event.
Gopher is hosting a Treat Outline Challenge.  See his 5-30-12 post for details.  Outline your body with treats and send him your picture by 6-30-12 to enter.  Voting will be in July for prize trading card and toy.

Deccy is offering an Excellent Blog Award for June.  The event is a caption contest for his Wordless Wednesday posts this month.  See his 6-1-12 post for details and the deadline is midnight GMT on 6-30-12.  Prize awarded in early July.
Dusty is celebrating his first barkday with a contest.  See his blog and click the Dusty's Celebration Competition tab under the header to see the entries and vote.  Deadline for voting is 7-25-12.  The prize is a graphite or pastel portrait of the winning picture.

AND:

Please don't forget that I'm hosting the Swimming Events for the upcoming combined Blogville Olympics and Cat-O-Lympics!

I'll accept your entry pix from July 9 until midnight EST July 18.  Please send them to me at this addy:  lfurman1987ATyahooDOTCOM.     Send them in final form since I can't photoshop.  Please be very creative and all species are welcome!  10 meter, freestyle, doggiepaddlie, backstroke, relay, 20 meter, etc etc etc.  I'll take it all!

There are tons of events to get ready for!  Lots more than just Swimming.

Crabby Monday...Our Visitor

" SHELLDON!!! "
 *&^%$#@  ...   who is this!?!
He's messing up our sandy section of the crabitat!
Don't babble Shelldon, I can see he's a relative of some sort!
WHAT?!?  You invited our "Country Cousin" to stay here?  WITH US?
I can't *&^%$#@ believe it.  A strange (really strange) crabitat guest.
Hey, Shelldon, I don't care...he smells icky like plastic & looks all spaced-out.
I think he's very fishy!

I'm going to have to throw a HUGE tantrum here!
Okay, but he stays NO MORE than two days...MAX!
Now, I have another set of pinchers to cook for and clean after.
Not funny, Shelldon!   @#$%^&*(
He's so fakey and flimsy, he'll be NO help around here!

Oh, it's going to be so crowded!
I swear this dude's weird!

My Dads Day

Hey Everyone!
Wow, did you all know and remember that today is Father's Day here in the United States?!?  I sure did.    Here are some pix to show just how special my Dad is...and I'm sure you'll agree:

My Dad is always first to create a new fashion trend!
I mean, check out this chic look in men's shirts.
He was so far ahead with this one that Hollywood still hasn't caught on!

And he is quite the collector!  He has about 87,000 tools and he's so generous
to rescue and give a good home to lots of broken and unwanted tools too.  Very sweet.
And those jars are filled with about 87,000 nails, screws, nuts, washers, clips and etc.
Perfect for some fixer-uper project of the future.

Here's Dad showing his dedication!  He spent about 3 hours fixing this little plastic clip.
Nevermind that they cost about 50 cents and Mom had a drawer full of about 87 more.

My Dad is also very determined.  He's no quitter!
This pix shows him getting back up off the deck and
climbing right back on that lounge chair after falling off.
He never gives up!

Seriously now, my Dad is my total inspiration for being Blogville's Chief of Police!
He was a great law enforcement guy.  Gosh, he's my HERO!

Here's my Dad enjoying some rest and relaxation with me,
his favorite, bestest behaved,
loving, cozy, lap dog.

Thanks for being such a pawesome Dad and I love you bunches and bunches.
Enjoy your special day and happy Father's Day to all of the Dad's out there.

Sarge, Furry Son
