Wordy Wednesday From Sarges Mom

Hello Everyone.  Sarge was kind enough to turn Mr Dell over to me for one post.

I wanted to take a minute to thank all of you in Blogville.
I may ramble a bit here, but I absolutely have to get this out in a post.

My Mom started blogging in Aug of '08.  You all know her as Frankie Furter's mom, Lana.  I was surprised at first because she is not a tech person.  Not a big fan of email, cell phones, etc.  She instantly loved it.   I am not a tech person either.  I hadn't owned a PC since the mid '90s and my cellphone is from 1996.  No need for a puter since I didn't email, don't facebook, etc.  In the Fall of 2010, Mom gave me a blog for Sarge.  She created it and set it all up because I was enjoying her blog stories so much.  I started taking my hubby to the library about twice each week to create a few posts and read a few.  I was instantly hooked and surprisingly, so was my husband.  We were both having too much fun to pack it all in at the library with their PC's.  Blogville was so enjoyable to us both that in January of this year we shelled out $600 to buy Mr Dell and then rearranged our living area so that it is the center of our household.   Just for the dogblog.     I think people thought I was crazy for not having a PC in forever, then were sure I was crazy for buying one just for the dogblog.    I don't care.    That's exactly what happened, and why.

Along with not being a tech person, I'm really not a very sociable person either.  I have my husband, whom I adore, my parents, whom I also adore, and Sarge, whom I also adore.  I have a very small circle of friends and co-workers whom I care very much for.  I am a homebody and do next to no other socializing.  Except for one thing.  This blog.  My hubby and parents, Sarge, a few friends, Sarge's blog.  This is the absolute truth.  We moved a family antique to be able to hang Sarge's tapestry so that it is above Mr Dell right in the middle of our house.  That's how important this all is to us.

I'm rambling and not getting to my point.  This blog shouldn't fit my life at all, but other than a few people and Sarge, it is most of my life.  Weird.  I hadn't really thought much about this until the past weekend.  Watching Blogville react first to Tucker's loss of his kitty, Scotsmad's loss of Kendra and especially the tragedy for the Houston Pittie Pack has effected me.  Sadly, we often lose beloved furiends in Blogville, but this is different.  I don't need to detail all of the specifics, you are all following them too.  I can't think of any other group that would act so fast and on such a large scale.  I know we hear about occasional other good deeds in our world, but this is different.

Okay, really too much rambling here.  My point is that I want to thank all of you.  I need to thank all of you for being such a positive part of my life, my husband's life and my Mom's life.  The humor is so wonderful.  The adventures are so fun to follow.  The scenery and nature where many of you live is so fascinating to me.  The dramas and sorrows that happen are touching to me.  The creativity and talents are amazing to me.   I am totally entertained by everything I find in Blogville.  I am totally inspired and stunned by everything I find in Blogville.   I care more about what happens with Blogville than most other things around me.  I try to describe this all to my friends and co-workers and I know they sort-of get it.  Some even follow us.  But, I'm not sure I can come close to really explaining it to someone who isn't in it like we are.  I'm pretty sure I'm not explaining this very well right now either.  I hope you all understand this mess of a post.  I love my life exactly the way it is and Blogville is a big part of that.  It adds even more joy to my life.  I live a quiet life, but I'd love to have Santa's Sleigh so I could zoom around the planet and meet every single person and pet that has been involved in this.  All of you.    I wish -really, really wish- I could meet all of you.   Basically, please just know that I am thanking you all for being such an important, positive and big part of my life.  Thank you for that.

Sending my love and appreciation to all of you.

Awwww. It's a good thing how blogging brings together good people who, quite likely, otherwise would never meet.

I SO get you, my life is rather quiet, it became that way because of my illness but now it is mostly my choice to live this way. To be honest I find the world outside rather scary if I am truthful. I like the fact that my dogs are my world and that blogville gets that and gets me, I LOVE the fact that blogville is the place it is andhas the people it has in it. We all get each other here and are there for each other through thick and thin and I know non residents dont get it but I feel they are worse off for not being part of this wonderful family. I am so very proud to be a part of this wonderful wacky family.

With love

You worded that just PERFECTLY.

Would it sound really weird if I said that Sarge is such a clear and strong personality in my mind that it took me quite by surprise to read your wonderful post today?

I think it's a tribute to how honestly and authentically bloggers like you write that the people often stay so firmly in the background.

It's so lovely when - like today - someone steps forward and we learn a bit more about them.

I know I'm as proud as punch and deeply honoured to feel I'm a part of this family of bloggers. Because it IS a real family and we're here for each other - even though now and again work and other stuff drags us away for a while.

Thanks for sharing - even though you made my eyes fill with tears and not for the first time this week.

Lots of love Elaine (a.k.a Winnie's LOTH)

Wow...you just described me too! Since I took early retirement in 2007, I've been kind of a homebody too.

I've only been in Blogville for just under a year. I never thought I'd get into this as much as I have. All my "real" friends live in Blogville and it's the best place in this uncertain world to live right now.

Thank you for a beautiful post. Blogville Rocks!

Love from all of us at Amber DaWeenies house!

We couldn't agree more! The support and the outpouring in the last couple of weeks shows in a material way what we all feel - or at least what we felt when Gizmo was sick and then passed in October. The support and love was wonderful!!

Sarge momma, This IS a wonderful place where we are all accepted, we are all here, for what started out as a love for our dogs...now we have gained so many wonderful friendships. We've learned, laughed and cried together. It still amazes me how it is possible to care so darn much when we have never met.
I still get a chuckle when I try to explain to people that my dog has a blog or I am talking to someone and I begin talking like Puddles...Oh my, the looks I get. I just have to explain to them that they would never understand.
I do wish I could live here permanetly and never leave.
Awesome post...and you will also notice that I ramble also.

Allison...Puddles mum
PS: I also adore your mom. She is a truely wonderful lady.

Totally understand. Everyone thinks SHE's nuts....but they humour HER.

What SHE finds fascinating is that everyone has different beliefs, views...etc and probably wouldn't get along without us DOGS!!!! It's great that our pets can transcend everything else!

We hope you have a wonderful Christmas...though how could you not with Sarge there.

Dear Sarge's Mom, thanks for the Wordy Wednesday and allowing us a little peek into your life. And I did not know Frankie Furter's mom is your actual mom! Cool!

Yes this Blog Community is something else. I started my blog in 2006 when I drove from Anchorage Alaska to the New Jersey Shore to spend the summer. I had always wanted to do a big road trip and this one sure fit the bill! Ginger, our little apricot poodle and my Mom drove with me on the Anchorage to Jersey leg, and Ginger and my sister Susan drove with me at the end of the summer from NJ to Seattle. At that point we put the car on a boat and we each flew home.

I have since deleted the travel posts (have no excuse why) but kept blogging. I have made some wonderful friends via my blog that I am sure I will never meet. When I try to explain some of this to those who do not read the blogs or are aware of them... well, they really don't get it .... so I too am very thankful for all my friends here in Blogville and especially for the outpouring of support when there is a time of need.

You all are amazing. Too bad we don't run the world! Merry Christmas!! Hugs and Love from chilly Anchorage Alaska.

Hi Sarge's Mom! We had no idea you are Frankie's sister!! So Frankie is Sarge's uncle? Wow! That is too cool! We know exactly how you feel about blogville. That warm fuzzy feeling. We get that too. We wish we could meet all of blogville as well. Sadley mommy knows a lot of people who think her blog is a silly waste of time. But we don't care. We wouldn't trade blogville for anything! And how this community came together with such love and power for Sandra is a testament that this is not a silly past time. This is fellowship! And we love blogville! We like totally see it as a gift from God. And what would we do without our favorite cheif of police?!!

Licks,
Ruthie

Dear sweet Sarge's mum. You have hit the nail on the head. I have only been blogging for a short while and already feel part of a community. Some people think I'm a bit strange (and they may be right ha ha) but I just love it too. I just tell people its my hobby now and they seem to understand that. My family were amazed by the amount of cards Stella and Rory received. Amazing and from all around the world too. We laugh and wonder what the Postman thinks cause we live in a very small town.

Anyhow, we know exactly how you feel and we feel the same. Thanks for this post. It has made me feel great. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. No worries, and love, Carol (and Stella and Rory)

Lori, I could not have penned this post any better! I feel exactly as you do. I am so glad we are "residents" of this community. The tragedy this week has been overwhelming for us in Blogville, yet there is comfort in knowing we have each other. I'm so glad Sarge and Zona have bonded! :)

I find that "talking" as Zona is easier for me than writing my own blog! I started blogging at the urging of my sister and decided to blog in Zona's voice since I had nothing interesting to say. Then I discovered Blogville and there was no turning back!

Thanks for sharing your story with us!

Well, first of all, I didn't know that Frankie's mom was also your mom!!! Where have I been!!!

I completely understand and feel the same way about the blog world. This is where I turn when I need a smile or support. There's been lots of stress in my life the last few years that I don't talk about much ...blogville has been my sanity and I can't thank all of you enough. If only the rest of the world was like blogville, where people accept each other without judgment and focus on what they have in common rather than how they are different. It's truly an amazing place!

Thanks for sharing!

Boy does that ever sound pretty much like me - my social life is basically Shiloh'n Shasta and Blogville and pretty much anuthing to do with dogs. When I tell my sis about a post that S & S did or something else I read in Blogville, many times she tells me I need to get a life but she knows very well where my life lies. Whenever my vision messes up Blogville and all of you are one of the most important things to me that I miss not being able to do so much. I really do appreciate all the support and concern you all show to all of us here at Team Beaglebratz. By the way, I really appreciated your comment about my most recent post. Spiritual and religious beliefs can be a touchy subject but like I said, it is OUR blog - if someone doesn't like what I post then they don't have to read it - we all have choices. That is a great thing about Blogville and the love, support and caring and doing what one can do to help others. And I love the Christmas song, I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas - it is playing now.
Another thing we have in common - we both have a tendency to ramble - isn't it fun?

Hey Sarge's mom - I also didn't know Frankie's mom was your mom!!!!! It makes perfect sense now!!

You have a big heart, as does Frankie's mom, two treasures in Blogville!!

I think you said it quite well. I'm not a social person either (hence my poor socialization of my dogs), but I find this whole blog thing to be da bomb and am communicating with more people on a daily basis than in my entire life.

So keep it up!

Wow, what a great post. It brought some tears to my eyes.

Okay...I must admit, I had my mom and dad buy me a laptop so that way I could hopefully jump on for a few on days I have to work over 12 hours and don't feel like going downstairs just so I can keep up on the blog as well. I love it and I am SOOOOOO happy I got to meet you in person and let you met Sagira. I hope to maybe meet up with you again and you can hopefully meet Bokeh and Starr as well. I would love to meet Sarge but understand that may not be the best thing. But we adore your blog and this was just a very beautiful post. (hugs)
