Wow, I almost forgot to tell all of you about this pawesome adventure my peeps had. Unfortunately, it was done WOS (with out Sarge...ahem). See, Frankie's mom, my Mamaw, likes to can yummy things. She showed Mom and Dad how to easily can grape juice. WELL, NOW...we all know that pooches cannot partake of such fruit, but my peeps really love it. Luckily for us we live really close to some of the bestest Concord Grapes ever. So, my peeps took off for North East (that's really the name of the city) several weeks ago when the grapes were perfect. Up in the grape North East (get it?!?) they picked pawesome looking grapes. They said they taste wonderful. Then they got busy and made their grape juice. (I was supervising.)
Wow, grapes as far as the eye can see!
Here's the Orchard.
Check it out! 45 cents per pound! Cheap, I guess.
Dad's hand in the bunches!
Teeheehee Those grapes got a bath!! BOL
Canning in progress. Note, my treat jar in the back!
Yummy peep juice...made from grapes, not peeps! BOL
They had all these left over...for PIE!
Mom made two grape pies and a turnover from those leftover grapes and froze enough for three more. That square dish is a peach cobbler she made from the peaches at that farm! Now THAT was Sarge-approved so I got some and it was TOTALLY YUMMY! Made up for all those grape things I couldn't have. BOL Anyway, there you go. One peep adventure, and a peach adventure for me.
BTW:

Peach Cobbler and Grape Pie and lots and lots of grape juice. Mom says after she finishes her visit at Frankie's, she is headed to yours. You all have lots of good stuff. Maybe we can hide in the back of the van so we can do zoomies with you.
ReplyDeleteWoos ~ Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
Dang it all, I can't beleive all the foods that I am not supposed to eat and drink. My Vickie loves grapes and grape juice but we always have to have the store bought. I bet the homemade is so much better.
ReplyDeleteBut I guess I'll never know.
Bummer
Bert
Grapes always look so fun though!
ReplyDeleteStill, the peach cobbler looks pretty tasty! :D

Lovely pictures! The Boy Of The House made peach cobbler in school cookery lessons last week. What a coincidence! And it looked as good as your mom's (which looks VERY NICE!)
ReplyDeleteLove and licks, Winnie.
Afternoon Sarge Sir! Wow what a lot of grapes, and what a great place to go and pick them from. The grape pie looks delicious, our Momster has never heard of grapes used this way - what a fantastic idea, like you we would prefer the peach pie, now that looks like good nom nom's! Dex and Lou xxx
ReplyDeleteI think I'd rather have the peachy cobbler anyway! Mom and dad's "grape juice" comes in big bottles and they drink it with special "whine" glasses....BOL!
ReplyDeletePeach cobbler sounds better than grape pie to us!
ReplyDeleteSwing on by for a visit some time!
