Community Safety Week...Traffic Safety Number One

Hey Everyone!  WELCOME TO BLOGVILLE SAFETY WEEK!

Wow, we have some really amazing things to share with you this week.  Some serious, some funny, some helpful and some just entertaining.  We hope you enjoy them all.  Here is a list of all of the events and links to find them.
Deputy Zona:  Trick-or-Treat Safety
Chief Investigator Pip:  Identity Theft
Deputy Bert:  Search and Rescue
Fire Chief Bucky:  Parade
Nurse Maggie Mae:  First Aid and Food Poisons
Civilian Desk Clerk Mona:  Plant Poisons
Road Dogs:  Transportation to all Events
Me:  Traffic Safety

So:  My Traffic Safety Event will be presented in three parts:

First:  Chasing Cars
Second:  Travelling
Third:  Moving Vehicles

Part One:  CHASING CARS
Chasing Cars is near and dear to many of our hearts.  This can be a great sport, fabulous exercise and really entertaining!  One problem…it’s incredibly DANGEROUS!

Seriously, this sport is not for the faint hearted.  I have been studying this situation and doing extensive research and I have formulated several preferred methods for getting the maximum excitement with no risk to life and paw.

Method A:  The simulator.

Sure, it lacks the cardio aerobic benefits, but it is definitely safe.  Just don’t fall off your puter chair!   BWAR HAR HAR

Method B:  Fight Fire with Fire.

Well, this one is safe too…as long as you can steer and still reach the pedals!  BWAR HAR HAR  But it also is missing the exercise potential while you're behind the wheel.

Method C:  THE SARGE WAY.

First, get your chauffeur in the driver's seat and get your bearings...

Then.....GET CHASING!!   WOOOHOOOOOO!

This is the preferred tactic for chasing cars.   It provides action and exercise, yet from inside another moving car there is no danger of getting your tootsies squashed.  Let your peeps drive you and you’re in business!

This concludes the first installment of my Traffic Safety series.  Tune back in for more later this week.

Grr and Woof,
Sarge, COP

  6. Yup...#3 looks like da most fun. Our former packmate, Dusty (RIP) used to chase pickup trucks from inside da yard. Her would be inside da fence and da truck on da outside. Her did dis for almost 18 years before her went to da Bridge.

  11. This is SO HELPFUL, Sarge! Thanks! Love seeing you in action in the videos!!

I had a doggie buddy who used to chase city buses! Seriously, when you were walking him and a bus would go by you had to hold him back or he would go crazy. My mom used to help walk him and WOW! Jack was about your size and my mom is only 5"2. She had to use all her strength to hold him back. Fortunately, he never escaped!

  15. Mom says she prefers the virtual method A. She saw way too many pups hurt or killed when she was a child more than 100 years ago when there were no leash laws. But we think you have some very creative ideas, Sarge.

  17. My Vickie likes your preferred method but warns others to make sure the windows are cold.

Yep its true, She had a car chaser that went head over heals out the window one time.

A few cuts and burises but she lived to chase again.

    Great post.
