Freaky Friday

Hey everyone!

Okay...  Has this ever happened to any of you out there in Doggie Bloggie Land???  Wait till you hear this!

I was sitting on my rug in the living room minding my own doggie business, when all of a sudden Mom grabs my favorite unstuffie toy and hauls it off to the bathroom.  Now I gotta tell you, I love my skunkie.  It was a Best Dog pressie from Cousin Frankie and it used to be a stuffie, but I like 'em better as unstuffies so I fixed that right away.  Now my skunkie unstuffie is one of my favorites.  So, back to the horror of this freaky Friday event.  Mom says something about my skunkie being disgusting!  Imagine the nerve.  Now I will admit it is well used (ahem)...but I don't believe it was disgusting.    Anyway, off she goes with my skunkie unstuffie.  I follow her in and she (gulp) fills the sink with soapy water and...well, just look at what happened next:

I think she must have been digging in her flowers before she did this.  Look at the water!  My skunkie unstuffie is black and white, but this water is muddy brown.  She should have washed her hands before she got them in the water with my toy.  Anyway, then look what happened:

I thought only panty hose went up there, but I'm on duty in the tub trying to rescue my skunkie.

Oh, the horror.    Now next came a trip to the basement and into the clothes dryer!  I couldn't believe it!  I didn't get a pix of that...I couldn't watch!

Now, in the end I was able to rescue my skunkie unstuffie.  So life's okay now.

But, what I want to know from my new friends is this:  HAS THIS EVER HAPPENED TO YOU???

Grr and Woof,
Sarge

  1. Oh yes, my toys and bed disappear every once in awhile for a trip through the washer and dryer. I miss them when they are gone, but they do come back all warm and cuddly.

  2. The horror! Why did she get it all muddy dirty in that water? I'm sure it was perfectly fine before she got her garden hands on it. I don't understand two-leggers sometimes!! Glad you rescued him!!

  4. Oh yes, Sarge, the MOmster steals our stuffies quite often and gasp - she puts them in that big white box she calls the washing machine. Then they come out smelling all clean and nice - who wants THAT? Just run your skunkie through the yard a few times and roll him in the dirt - he will be back to good soon.

  5. My Shiver is a chewer so he doesn't get stuffies. They'd become unstuffed very quickly.

Your skunk looks like he probably smelled like one after being in all that brown water. But just think how much fun you'll have getting him all dirty again!

  6. Well, some of ours have disappeared into the basement machine and then come back upstairs without our stink on them! Nice new header picture!

  7. I khan't say that it has -

I'm not overly interested in stuffies - that's Khousin Merdie's department!

I'm glad your patience was rewarded!

  8. Hello Sarge,
This has happened to our coonhound, Daisy, but in a completely different way and now that I see WHAT I SHOULD HAVE DONE vs WHAT I DID I am ashamed of myself. Both methods are pretty severe but at least you got to reunite with your toy. Guess where Daisy's toy ended up? In the garbage! I think I am a very bad dog-mom....shame on me!

  9. Hi, Sarge!
Oh-oh! The nerve of your mom!
Hmmm.... well... my mom does the same with my favorite Piggy stuffie!
But we don't have a dryer.... so my Piggy has to be outside, hanging from a cord for a very long time until it is dried!
And it is not funny, right?

  10. Well, my momma puts my stuffies (stuffed or not) in the automatic washy machine. They come out all smelling weird and sometimes the squeaks don't work properly. I don't know why she bothers because she says they are gross again as soon as I put them in my large and debris containing mouth.
